Blessing because of you——2008 qingcongquan anuual report

 

In the days of bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new, we look back on the past year of 2008 when we experience both hardship and achievement. Fortunately, we have so many friends who understand us, encourage us and support us, so that we can overcome any difficulty and expect a better tomorrow. At this very moment, we want to thank all our friends for you make us believe how great love is and how hopeful life can be.

Part One. Teaching

 

Number of students

During the year of 2008, 68 children came to Qingcongquan to receive our trainings. Among those, 28 children went to regular primary schools after courses.

Newly Opened Courses

Except for original courses like sensory integration trainings, cognition trainings and games, we open new courses such as music, art and listening this year. Teaching group of cognition newly opens speech therapy course, and teaching group of sensory integration improves listening practices and games.

Replenishing of Teaching Aid

With the help of volunteers, we made cards and toys for games and language courses. With social donation, we bought teaching aid on sensory integration and cognition, so that children can experience more vivid classes effectively.

Pre-service Trainings for Teachers

Incoming: Six experts from Japan, Australia, and USA voluntarily came to Qingcongquan to provide professional trainings for our teachers.

Outgoing: During 2008, six teachers at Qingcongquan went to Hong Kong and Tsingtao to attend professional trainings on special education. Fourteen teachers attend trainings held in Shanghai.

Internal Trainings

Two competitions were organized to foster teachers" professional skills. Four new teachers passes exams to become qualified teachers.

Part Two. Activities

As communication disorders are most serious problems autistic children confront, we hold all kinds of activities for ten times within the past one year. Such activities not only enable children to contact with outside world, but also promote the public"s awareness of autism.

January 17th: Teachers and student representatives attended the New Year"s Concert of Yumeng School.

February 3rd:Invited by Madame Tussauds, 25 children visited wax museum and enjoyed themselves.

March 29th: With the financial support from Emoney, Qingcongquan held the spring outgoing titled "flourishing blossoms" which was reported by many mass medias.

April 2nd: Qingcongquan held an exhibition of paintings made by autistic children in celebration of the first International Day of Autism.

May 25th: The representatives of parents and teachers were invited to the concert "les choristes". The performance of our students moved all the people present.

June 1st: To avoid hand-foot-mouth disease, we held an indoor sports games to celebrate the Children"s Day.

June 13th: Changning district committee and shanghai pharmaceutical group join hands to auction paintings painted by students of Qingcongquan. Money made by auction was donated to the earthquake-stricken area.

August 23th: With the help of volunteers from Emoney, 12 students went out for theatergoing.

October Parents" affairs are regarded as the key point of our work. We welcome any parents who want to visit Qingcongquan or consult us. Though the number of our teachers is limited, we never stopped holding teacher-parent conference. In the year of 2008, we held 9 interchange activities for parents in total, and about 472 parents took part. Many parents gained courage through activities.

 25: Qingcongquan cooperated with Ctrip to hold an activity. 30 students went to Qingpu to make cakes and pick fruits.

December 21st: With financial support of Baker & McKenzie, we held a Christmas Party. Four hundred people get together to watch the amazing performances of our children.

Part Three. Parent Affairs

Parents" affairs are regarded as the key point of our work. We welcome any parents who want to visit Qingcongquan or consult us. Though the number of our teachers is limited, we never stopped holding teacher-parent conference. In the year of 2008, we held 9 interchange activities for parents in total, and about 472 parents took part. Many parents gained courage through activities.

Part Four

Social Initiation

Till now, our society has not yet put enough emphasis on autism and autistic children. Making the public realize that autism is a kind of serious mental disability instead of ordinary mental disease is one of the significant goals of Qingcongquan. In order to expand our presence, we took part in multiform activities such as charity banquet, exhibition and forum. For example, we attended Expat Show in September and non-government organizations forum in Fuzhou in November. This year, news about Qingcongquan was reported by several major medias for sixteen times.

Part Five. Good News

On August 8th, 2008, Qingcongquan was authorized to be a private non- enterprise organization after four years of efforts. On November 1st, Qingcongquan was nominated for top sixteen programs in First Jet Li One Foundation Model Project.

Part Six. Prospect of 2009

Venue Construction: Due to shortage of capital, the site area of Qingcongquan is just 200 square meters. We press for a suitable venue to construct a paradise for autistic children.

Teaching: We will open new courses of exchanging pictures and social stories, carry out PEP-R assessment and build more small group courses.

Trainings for Teachers: Qingcongquan will continue inviting experts to give lectures to teachers and sending teachers to take trainings. We will improve our assessment system.

Parent Affairs: Parents committee and parents centre will be founded. Activities for parents will also continue.

Special Allowance:We will help students with financial needs seek for allowance to support their courses.

Social Initiation: We will cooperate with other organizations on autism to give lager publicity of autism to the public.

Volunteer Affairs: Qingcongquan will fasten the ties with universities and enterprises, providing more trainings to volunteers.

Qingcongquan, an NGO in the service of children with special needs, has experienced four years of time. Though the way is filled with tears and sweat, we never think of giving up, for we know that after hardship and difficulty, we will embrace our achievement. In the following years, we will work harder to create a real paradise for autistic children who are regarded to come from stars.
